I am putting together my new home theater system and below are the components of my system and also some of the basic criteria. Please provide your opinion of what the best receiver for me would be given the information below.

Components:
- Vizio 70" TV (on order)
- Panasonic BDT-220 Blu Ray player (on order)
- Time Warner Cable Box (don't recall the brand)
- 4 in-ceiling speakers (I know this is not ideal) - TBD but leaning on the 8" speakers from Monoprice
- Center channel speaker (TBD but probably one of the Polk CS series)
- Subwoofer (TBD but probably one of the Polk PSW series)
- 2 outdoor patio speakers (TBD but probably one of the Polk Atrium series)

Criteria:
- Needs to be 2 zone
- Price range: $350-$450
- Will be using it for both home theater and music

Denon AVR 1912. I have one. They are nice. Got enough bells and whistles without going overboard if you aren't hardcore.

Stand tall and shake the heavens...

I heard good things about Denon. Has anyone heard anything good/bad about Accessories4less.com? They are an authorized dealer for Denon and sell refurbished units at pretty substantial discounts. Below is a list of units in my price range that they currently have for sale. I also included the MSRP and current new Amazon price in paranthesis and the date they first hit the market on Amazon. I am leaning towards the AVR-1913 or the AVR-2113 but not sure if it is worth the extra $50. Any thoughts?

Denon AVR-890 - $250 (msrp $799, Amazon $579) - Jun-2009
Denon AVR-891 - $350 (msrp $799, Amazon $599) - May-2010
Denon AVR-1712 - $270 (msrp $400, Amazon $400) - Jun-2011
Denon AVR-1713 - $320 (msrp $450, Amazon $450) - Apr-2012
Denon AVR-1912 - $330 (msrp $550, Amazon $448) - Mar-2011
Denon AVR-1913 - $350 (msrp $580, Amazon $529) - Apr-2012
Denon AVR-2112CI - $370 (msrp $650, Amazon $497) - May-2011
Denon AVR-2311CI - $400 (msrp $900, Amazon $650) - Jun-2010
Denon AVR-2113CI - $400 (msrp $650, Amazon $497) - May-2012

Where are you located? If you check your local best buy clearance sales you might find a Denon 1712 or 1912 for $199.

AC4L had been around over 10 years and often recommended on this forum for refurb units. They became an authorized Denon refurb reseller in Oct 2011. Although as afrogt suggests, you're much better served first checking out your local area Best Buy stores for clearance sales on new in box units first which would provide the full 2 year (3 year for "CI" models) warranty vice only 1 year for a refurb.

I will definitely check my local Best Buys (Milwaukee area). If they don't have any of these on clearance, which would you recommend from the list? I also came across a Pioneer Elite VSX-40 Costco's website, which looks like last years model, for $270. How does this one compare to the lower or even higher priced Denon's in my list?

You haven't listed any features you want in an AVR (other than Zone 2) so hard to make a recommendation, although the unit most often recommended is the 2112CI.

I checked my local Best Buy stores and below are my updated options along with total pricing (tax/shipping if applicable). Given the price tag on the 1912, is this now the best bang for the buck in the list below? As far as the features I am looking for other than the 2 zones, I am just looking for an overall good receiver that can do the best job with the components I am hooking up to it perform well for both home theater and music applications.

Denon AVR-1912 - $210 - clearance from local Best Buy
Denon AVR-1913 - $365 - refurbished from A4L
Denon AVR-2113CI - $415 - refurbished from A4L
Denon AVR-2112CI - $401 - clearance from local Best Buy
Yamaha Aventage A810BL- $401 clearance from local Best Buy
Pioneer Elite VSX-40 - $232 clearance from local Best Buy

Scratch off all the Best Buy clearance items as none of them are "really" available. When you go to check out, a message pops up for all of these that it is no longer available. Looks like I am back to the refurb units from A4L:

Denon AVR-1912 - $330 (msrp $550, Amazon $448) - Mar-2011
Denon AVR-1913 - $350 (msrp $580, Amazon $529) - Apr-2012
Denon AVR-2112CI - $370 (msrp $650, Amazon $497) - May-2011
Denon AVR-2113CI - $400 (msrp $650, Amazon $497) - May-2012

Ok, just came across a Black Friday ad for a local electronics store (American TV) which will have new Denon AVR-2112CI for $363 w/tax. So below is the updated list to pick from. Is it now a no-brainer to get the 2112CI?

Denon AVR-1912 - $347 - refurbished from A4L - 1 year warranty
Denon AVR-1913 - $365 - refurbished from A4L - 1 year warranty
Denon AVR-2112CI - $363 - new from local store - 3 year warranty
Denon AVR-2113CI - $415 - refurbished from A4L - 1 year warranty

Spend some time and call around some of the online retailers like J&R, ABT, Electronics Expo and ask them for their best price on the 2113. I just ordered one and was able to get a price which was very reasonable and made buying new with the 3yr warranty better than the small difference in price for the refurb'd unit.

You need to decide on whether you want any of the features on the 2113CI that are not offered on the 2112CI. Review post #2 in the Denon AVR-XX13 Owner's thread linked in my sig.

Ended up buying the 2112 new on BF for $363 locally w/tax. Couldn't justify the extra $50, reduced warranty and being refurbished on the 2113 for the few extra features that 2113 has that the 2112 doesn't have. Now just waiting on my Polk PSW505 subwoofer and CS2 center to arrive so I can try this puppy out with my new Vizio 70". Thanks for all the help with this!

Fry's has the Denon 1913 for $288 -- I bought it last week for $529 and just had my price adjusted down to $288 yesterday. It doesn't seem to be advertised yet but that's their price (at least in Austin yesterday it was).
