I currently have a yamaha rxv661 in which the hdmi picture doesn't work. I just get sound. It's not any settings it's just broke. The most important features I'm looking for is the ability to play music from my computer directly to the receiver. I know the rxv671 is on sale for $300 but I'm kind of iffy on the yamaha quality after more research. Any other great suggestions for me?

My setup
4 - Energy c-300's
1 - Energy cc-50
1 - Polk 100 watt sub
Samsung LN52A650
PS3

Denon has marked down the 1613 and 1713 for the weekend. I believe $270 for the 1613 and $350 for the 1713. Amazon has lowered their pricing to match, and Best Buy is close on price as well. After really wanting to go for an Onkyo, I finally was scared away by the hdmi issues and went for the 1713. The extra $80 gets a better room equalizer, an extra hdmi port, and it has network capability. The 1613 may have network as well, I don't remember. I went with Amazon for the purchase

The Denon AVR-1613 is on Amazon (and all over the web for that matter) for $269. Apparently they're selling them in stores for that price as well. I just pulled the trigger on mine a few minutes ago. wink.gif

The 671 deal is dead now. All sold out.

I think the 671 was an overall better receiver than the 1613 but the Denon has two advantages...MultEQ room calibration and Airplay.

if the PS3 is your only source and perhaps your computer you really dont need much connectivity. No cable/sat box?

If you're willing to spend up to $350 get the Denon AVR 1713. Even better room calibration software than the 1613.
