So i just sold my onkyo 609 on craigslist and need a new receiver. i got rid of the 609 because it only had Audessey 2EQ. I like the way the onkyo remote works with my cable box, sony bdp590 and samsung plasma and was curious if the denon 2112/2312 remote worked as well. i read through some of the XX12 thread but couldnt find much. This is the only reason i'm not looking at the 2013 year model denons. I have enregy rc-10 & LCR, cb50 surrounds and svs pb10-nsd as speakers. i don't really need anything other than 5.1, pandora, front USB,and both have these. THanks

The nod would go to either the 2112 or 2113 as QC issues with the Onkyo X09 models would always be in question.

really?! the op is looking at units that cost roughly $500-$700 new and you recommend a $2500 dollar unit......really?!?

the 4520 may be the best thing since this side of sliced bread on the avr market right now, but is not in anyway an appropriate unit to recommend here imo.

OP, the one big advantage the onkyo 709 has over the denon units is a full set of pre-outs in case the need for external amplification should ever arise...though I would probably go with one of the denons just because I like them better and I own both a denon and an onkyo right now.

I don't need snobs to tell me how to think, thank you!

Correct. The new Denon XX13 remotes (except the 3313CI) can no longer control other devices. Use a Harmony remote.
