Hey, my teen son wants to start vinyl listening. He's getting a debut carbon turntable for Xmas, however, what else will be required to hear his music?. He already has a good gaming laptop & high end headphones. Plans on listening only with the headset. Any suggestions on a reasonable amplifier? He will not be using usb with this setup & there is definite space limitation. Thank you in advance. bow bow tongue.gif

Why not use the usb? Why vinyl for that matter? Why a amp for only headphones? Bow bow? Weird.

Check out the Harmon Kardon 3390 receiver. It has a phono preamp which you need to play your TT. It also has a headphone jack for his headphones. If you look around it can be had for around $250.

Thank you very much for the reply Class A .
I will check out the Harmon. My boy says vinyl is making a comeback (when you listen with a reasonable needle cartridge) No USB because he doesn't need to convert or compress any data. He only wants to listen to uncompressed analog sound to separate out the voice & instruments >>> So he says. He shares a room with younger bro & doesn't want to share his music, so he use $400 headphones . Weird? yeah, I am weird. I raise my glass. LOL . And, I've learned not to debate over this stuff with my teen. That is why I dont want to spend alot. Cheers
