I currently have a Pioneer VSX 925 powering (or under powering) the following
2 Klipsch RF 82
1 Klipsch RC 62
2 Klipsch RS 42

The receiver is okay up to reasonable listening levels, but I am deathly afraid of clipping as Its optimistically rated at 90 W per channel. I am leaning toward Denon because of their room correction software, but I am open to Yamaha (havent heard much about their correction solution). Onkyo scares the living daylights out of me after reading all of the threads noting build and design issues smile.gif Input would be appreciated. As a point of reference for price and features I am leaning towards the Denon 2313 CI. it is also worth mentioning that I mostly use my Home theatre PC so networking and apple integration don't interest me.

As always thank you everyone for your continued patience and insight.

Keep in mind that it takes a doubling of power to get a mere 3 dB increase in volume. Klipsch are pretty efficient so I don't think power output should really drive a decision to upgrade in this case. The 2313 is more powerful, especially when running all channels, but it's probably not enough to upgrade based on that alone, unless there are certain features you want that the Pioneer lacks (the Audyssey of the Denon may be a good enough reason). In regards to room correction, the Audyssey in the 2313 is generally thought of as superior to Yamaha's in house solution.

"The 2313 is more powerful, especially when running all channels"...Actually thats where a lot of my concern comes from as I often run all channels when listening to music. I also would like better room correction. Thanks for the input I think I might wait for boxing day and purchase the 2313.

My budget is about 1k, but keep in mind that's in Canada where we seem to pay a 25% premium on receivers versus the US. Hopefully boxing day offers some decent deals smile.gif
