So I have the onkyo 818 with the rti12 fronts (bi amped) and I have the rti5 as my center. However, I haven't seen enough power pushed through the 12's . I mean when I'm listening to music all I hear is the center (well I guess that's supposed to happen because I put it to Music THX). But even so the rti12's are pretty quiet (woofers aren't getting pushed). And I believe that an emotiva amp powering the rti woofers > my BIC F12.

But my question is, if I'm using this for 80% music and 20% HT. Should I get the XPA - 2? Or the XPA - 3? I mean I feel as if the center channel is loud enough. I just want to power those fronts. Sorry for being vague, no idea what to do.

EDIT - After doing research people seem to be pushing to get the XPA - 5... But I question. My receiver already pushes out 135 watt, will 200 be an improvement vs 300? (Trying to justify cost for XPA 2 + XPA 3 hahaha, but... better half probably a no go).

Also.. Bi amp from receiver vs bridging with amp?

Some information that is needed is all three dimensions of your room and your distance from speaker to seat.

I run my Denon 4308ci in a 17X23X9.5 room seated ~14 feet away and have no problems with just the receiver. Once I upgraded to my Denon I sold my Adcom.

An audiophile likes to talk about how much they spent and how good it sounds.

A DIY'er likes to talk about how little they spent and how good it sounds.
