I see the priced has compressed between the two quite a bit. Which is a better receiver for my needs? Planning on going with LG 55LM9600 and apple TV. Im current using Boston Acoustic satellite 5.1 system that about 12 yrs old that i will be replacing with similar sized system. Thanks

As noted by the model number difference the 7005 is a few models above the 5007. Both use the same Audyssey MultEQ XT, and each offers features the other doesn't. So choose the one that best meets your feature/input/output requirements.

Thank you. But what are the major differences ? I really liked the sr7007 over the sr5007, but if I can pick up a sr7005 that will spend like the sr7007 I'd prefer to save the $500-700. I was surprised of the sound difference in the 5007 vs the 7007 and to me the 7005 seemed like it had a better build quality.

What exactly does that mean, doesn't make sense to me?

Has anyone checked these units out side by side to discern the major differences? I can only find the 7005 on line. Thanks

I researched both before buying and chose the 7005. The features the 7005 has outweighed the 5007 for my wants/ needs.
