Hi all,

I'm a big-time noob when it comes to audio. I have a 33 ft * 12 ft basement section for which I'm setting up a home theater. I got the Polk speakers series all together for $700 or so and they sound fantastic. Now looking for a receiver that can put these speakers to good use!

I just picked up the HK AVR 1700 from BB for $200 and will be giving it a spin today. I read other posts on this receiver and especially about multi-audyssey vs ezset and not sure if a different/better receiver can drastically improve the listening experience!

Please suggest receivers in the $300 - $400 range? HDMI pass-through on standby is NOT a deal-breaker for me.

I don't think you can do significantly better for $400.

No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!
