I have a Denon AVR-2113ci. I have my TV connected to it, and my HTPC. The TV has a built in cable receiver that I've been using. In order for the audio to be passed back to the receiver, I need to enable HDMI control in the receiver. However, when I do that, it also turns on HDMI passthrough. When that's on, any time the receiver turns off, the HTPC negotiates stereo sound and gets stuck in it, leaving me with no sound (it should be a PCM output).

So I either disable HDMI control and have sound from my HTPC or enable it to get sound from my TV. Any ideas?

Instead of using the HDMI(ARC) connection, simply connect an optical cable from the TV to the AVR and then set HDMI Control to OFF.

Also note there is a dedicated thread for Denon AVR-XX13 Owners linked in my sig. Review posts #3-6 for more helpful information.
