I am new to digital audio and HDMI. Trying to get my head around what is going on.

My Panasonic DMP-BDT220 claims the disk is playing in DTS HD 7.1 ... But my Onkyo HT R591 receiver say the signal coming in is DTS 5.1 I am using Dolby EX to "convert" /process the sound to 6.1/7.1 (I have a 7.1 receiver but have it running with one back speaker off). Seems the Onkyo adjusts input according to how it reads what is coming out of the player as I have no controller of that.

Any ideas with this is or is this typical? Can someone shed some light or point me in a direction.

It might be in your Digital Audio output settings on your BDT220. Might want to try setting your BD-Video Secondary Audio to off and then it will output the primary audio.

Thanks so much that was it. The BD player would not let me turn off 2nd audio in the disk options menu ... Although the 2nd Vidio control is there, had to go to the player setup menu.
