My Denon 1713 has binding posts, and the new banana plugs I purchased does not fit into them.

I tried pulling them out and twisting them, but they do not easily come out and I have a fear of snapping them.

Not much info on google.com on how to get these into the receiver, I saw one video where I guy used a paperclip but that did not work either.

What do you suggest so I can plug these in? Plugs are below, thx

My brother in law has those same items, and had trouble plugging them into his AVR and speakers, too. The solution was to push harder.

I have to say I am not all that comfortable with "push harder" when it comes to my equipment, but he seems satisfied now.

They're compression fit. That "bubble" on the banana plug pin will flex when pushed into the speaker connections on the back of the receiver. Like JD indicated, push harder.

So I can leave the binding posts in.... And just push harder? Right?

I'm always reluctant to give advice like that, but this is what worked for my brother-in-law.

I would just suggest not connecting/disconnecting too often.

Those inserts are found on AVRs and speakers that might be exported to Europe - the reason for the plugs is because their wall plugs are round and spaced just far enough apart to be able to plug them into some AVRs and speakers. It doesn't make sense to me since the male plug goes into the wall plug - it isn't electrified like the female wall plug. But like regulations here and elsewhere they don't have to make sense - they just have to be followed - or else. HK puts those plugs into all of their speakers and some AVRs.
