Virtually all source components with a Digital Out (S/PDIF or HDMI) also include an L/R analog audio output, just run a separate pair of RCA cables..
Just my $0.02...
But wouldnt these cable boxes or almost any other source be able to output only one (hdmi or rca) at a time ? I dont think my cable box other than ps3 can output both simultaneously.
My sat box allows the same thing.
Give the analog audio a try, I 'm pretty confident it will work.
Actually, virtually all 2013 BD players have no analog output of any sort, either video or audio.
Confirmed and good to know.

Audiosceptics accept audio trials using 25 people. A recent Oxford study with over 353,000 patient records from 639 separate clinical trials shows for every 1,000 people taking diclofenac or ibuprofen there would be 3 additional heart attacks, 4 more cases of heart failure and 1 death every year.
There is a Gefen version, for more than double the price, seems to use pretty much the same internals (but it's on the up and up and it pays licensing fees to Dolby, as evidenced by the logo).
If you are not using a 5.1 source, you can look at something like a simple FiiO D3 converter.
Do pay attention to the 2-channel-PCM or multichannel DTS/DD distinction, as from something like the FiiO you'll just get silence from multichannel media feeds.
