I just got this receiver yesterday and it sounds GREAT but for some reason whenever I try and play a PC Game through hdmi setup I get no sound. The weird thing is when I hook it up through Optical on my pc it plays??? The manual say not to have both hdmi and optical hookup from the same source but thats the only way I can get sound to play for my pc games.

Have you told your PC to put audio out through HDMI? Should be through the audio control panel or mixer or some such.

The machine I'm sitting at now doesn't support that so I can't really get specific here.

That IS weird.

Perhaps there's some DirectX setting or something that is changing things on you? Unfortunately it's been a while since I was big into the details of PC gaming systems so I don't have a lot else to offer.
