I realize this is a double post but the guys on the Projector thread don't seem to wan to provide their input. So, I will pose it here too so see if anyone can help me make a more informed decision.

I am looking at a receiver and a pre/pro as options to control my new yet to be purchased HT and audio system. The receiver and pre/pro are nearly identical in the processing aspects except for Deep Color and Lip Sync. The receiver does not have these two items.

Are they really something that I would be concerned about?

My proposed projector9s) are Sony 50ESS or JVC 48/4810.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know what "True Color" is supposed to mean in this context, but Lip Sync normally refers to the HDMI feature that will let your display tell the receiver how much the receiver should delay the audio to match the video delay the display imposes. Any receiver should let you set the audio delay manually so I wouldn't call it a necessary feature.

If you were to provide the exact model numbers of the receiver and pre/pro you're considering, people might be able to provide more detailed responses.

Sorry about that...I corrected the thread title to be Deep Color...not True color.

The two units are Integra DTR-80.3 and DHC-80.3

Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

You can easily look up Deep Color in wiki and elsewhere but it's not encoded on DVDs and Blu-rays. It's like guessing what's not there, sort of color upconversion in v simple terms. Not needed or even recommended to use.

Audiosceptics accept audio trials using 25 people. A recent Oxford study with over 353,000 patient records from 639 separate clinical trials shows for every 1,000 people taking diclofenac or ibuprofen there would be 3 additional heart attacks, 4 more cases of heart failure and 1 death every year.
