I know some of you have a better understanding on prices for these receivers, so I'm not sure if this price tag is something it normally comes down to. Is the Denon 1613 at $295 still too high of a price in some of your eyes or do you feel it's reasonable?

It just makes me think because I read a thread on here where some got it for around $150!

It's at a local store near me and not sure if I should pull the trigga! Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

The XX13 models will start going on clearance sales as the newer 2013 models start being released in the next few months so you're bound to see sales at various levels depending on how much stock of that particular model a reseller must get rid of to make room for the newer line. That is a fairly good sale price though. Just make sure your "local store" is an authorized Denon reseller otherwise the warranty will be null and void. eek.gif

Think you have a defective AVR? Owner's manual - Factory reset 4-5 times in a row.

So I see that the 1612 model is pretty stable around the 200 dollar mark. can I expect the 1613 to get at or below $200 in the next few months as the new years models rollout? I'm just not sure how long one should wait to see how far it will go down in price.

probably not until June, July or later if you can stand the wait.

Why not get the refurb for $229 if you're in a rush?

I guess I could go for that. It being a refurb model worries me a little, but so many people say that site is the real deal. The horror stories of this or that not working always sticks in my mind. Are these truly almost identical to new models?

It is indeed the "real deal" as I've been to their warehouse and met the owner. smile.gif

Do these tend to replicate new models, or are some scuffed up and such?

Depends on the condition it was left in by the buyer who returned it, although in many cases, buyers have noted the refurb looks brand new.
