Hey I need advice on a receiver? I had Yamaha YHT-900 6.1 in box home theater system with HTR-5560 receiver. It served me for more then ten years, i enjoyed it A LOT. It was really outdated and i sold the receiver, but still have 6 wood shelf speakers model #NS-AC580 6 ohms and 45 watts with subwoofer. Ok here is the question: im starting from the beginning, What would be the best receiver that i could use with my speakers. I would like a DLNA connection and Air play, bluetooth is optional. Any advice?

Before you buy a 1000$ receiver, you should proportion your speakers to be at least 2x the cost of the receiver. So you would need $2000 worth of speakers for a $1000 receiver. For those speakers, something like a Denon 1713 would suffice.

Pioneer SC-1522-K. Price at Amazon is just under your limit. 9.2 channels with the features you mention. Bluetooth requires an optional $99 accessory.

With those Yamaha speakers all you need is an entry level receiver. You definitely don't need to spend up to $1000.

What devices will you be connecting? Are they all HDMI?

Something like the Denon 1713. Pioneer VSX-1022, and Yamaha 573 all have Airplay and DLNA and may be more than enough for your needs.

Thanks for some good advices, well as i mention im starting from scratch and thinking in the future to purchase a Panasonic Plasma TV ST-50 or VT-50 it is all depends on the purchase of receiver first. Yes most of all its going to be HDMI connections only. For the speakers i was thinking they will work good for so-round sound but for music maybe in near future i could by some decent pair of speakers...

any thoughts on Marantz NR1603 or Sony STRDN1030? Both CNet and Hometheather.com are giving good review for Sony.

Anthem MRX-300 is $950USD so that'll be my vote, I haven't heard the Sherwood R-972 Newcastle but at $599 I believe they sell for with the Trinnov Optimizer should be on this list as well but it's pretty ugly looking.

Ok guys it seems like im little stuck and need your advice on three AV Receivers;
1. Onkyo TX-NR616 7.2-Channel
2. Denon AVR-1913 7.1 Channel or Denon AVR-2113CI
3. Marantz NR1603

I like Onkyo because of the options it comes with but as a brand not sure, not familiar with it and of the cons is that it does not have air play... The options Onkyo comes with matching with Denon avr-2113CI but much cheaper then all. The only pro for Marantz NR1603 that it slim and would fit the best in my place and 3 year warranty sounds good.

Any thoughts what would be better?

Would you consider a used receiver? If you would, I have a Denon AVR-3311ci that meets and exceeds all your requirements. Have Rotel separates so no longer need for the Denon.
