The Yamaha RX-V673 says 7.2-Channel Powerful Surround Sound with 105W per Channel but Output Wattage: 90 Watts. I don't get it... Will I be able to tell a difference between the Yamaha RX-V673 if I up grade from the Onkyo TX-SR705? The Onkyo puts out 100W and the Yamaha only does 90W (or 105W) per speaker. I like all the extra HDMI ports,up scaling and Air play but I'm worried about the 10W lower per speaker. Any input would really help me hit the buy button! OR should I be spending my 600 bucks on a different reciever? Thanks !

I'm running MonoPrice speakers, 3 front 7604 6-1/2 Inches Dual Woofer- Micro Flange In-Wall Speakers and 4 7605 6-1/2 Inches Dual Woofer- Micro Flange In-Ceiling Speakers.

Even assuming that those numbers are measured and represented in the same way, the answer is no, you will not be able to tell the difference.

If you're paying $600 for that receiver then you're paying $200 too much. It was just on sale for $399 3 days ago. Now that the RX-Vx75 models have been announced look for discounts on the x73 models.

By the way you wont notice the difference between 90 and 100 watts.

So go with the Harman Kardon AVR 3650 for 714 bucks smile.gif The Denon AVR-1913 looks good and I can always get an amp if I want more power I guess. I dont need the 2k or 4k for a couple more years

+1
Do the Denons have any DSP Modes like the Yamaha? Hall in Munich, Chamber, Cellar Club, Sports, Sci-Fi, etc.

No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!

you can't add an amp to the Denon 1913, it doesn't have any preamp outputs!

O... Ok well I have 20 foot ceilings so I'm afraid to lose power. I would go with the Pioneer SC-1222-K for 550 but its to tall fit under my TV. Its 6 inches taller then the Onkyo... Guess I can just change the whole set up.
