Can anyone recommend a quality docking station for my iPhone 5 that I can use with my old Dennon analog amp to get the "best" quality reproduction from my iTunes library and for Pandora? RCA cables (r/l) are my only option on the back of the amp.

*EDIT My Dennon amp is DRA-835R

Thanks!!

http://www.pure.com/product/i-20-vl-61429/

and you'll need this to adapt the new iphone 5 usb to the old apple usb

not sure how well this will work without a preamp in the mix

I would say get an apple airport express and connect an analog cable to it and the receiver. Then use Airplay to send music to it. That way you can still hold on to your phone. If you want a digital connection get an outboard dac that can convert optical to analog.

OK. So since the old Dennon amp has no digital processing capabilities, I need a DAC that converts the digital signal from my iPhone into an analog signal that the Dennon amp can process correct? If so, it seems like the Pure i-20 option gets me on the right track. From the Pure i-20 to the amp is just a set of rca cables correct?

Thanks!

I just had a thought. I have an old Vista laptop that I could use for my iTune library and Pandora as well. The only way I could think to get this signal from the laptop to the amp would be from a single pin from the headphones jack to a "splitter" that switches to r/l RCA cables. It seems like the iPhone 5 as the source would be better sounding (assuming an external DAC that bypasses the iPhone internal) rather than jumping the audio from the headphone jack on my laptop.

Thoughts?
