Hello:

I currently own an Onkyo TX-SR806 receiver and enjoy it. I am having some issues with HDMI handshaking (which I am hoping an HDMI Detective will fix) but otherwise have no issues with the receiver.

With all the newer high end receivers coming out, is it with upgrading to the newer technologies like Audyssey XT32, or would I be better off staying with my TX-SR806 and having it professionally calibrated? It will be connected to a new Panasonic P60Gt50 TV.

Thanks!

Audyssey XT32 would be a good idea if you'd like to upgrade your AVR. BTW, what exactly do you mean by having the 806 "professionally calibrated"?

The 806 is already THX Ultra 2 Plus certified.
