Hy

I have RX-V375 for 2 weeks now and i'm more than satisfied with it. I have one problem if anyone can help. Yesterday I accidentaly put it in safety mode when it was powered ON and OFF for three times (safety power circuit is activated) so I can't power it ON. Does anyone knows key combination for service reset?

Tnx

Have you tried unplugging it? Call Yamaha.

No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!

Yes it was unplugged over night. I contacted Yamaha and their answer is .... take it to service center. I know there is a combination of buttons on main unit for resetting the unit.... argh!

Page 105 of the manual explains how to set to default settings. Try that. But its not a hard reset.
You are right though about a hard reset. I just dont know what it is. I would try to call Yamaha again. You will get someone different and ask them what the procedure is for a hard reset.

No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!

The special key sequence needed to power on after it goes into protect mode 3 times was posted in one of the x73 threads. The x75 might not be the same, but there's a good chance it is.

But what did you do to trigger that mode? You have to fix that problem first.

So anyone comment on the Denon 1713 Audyssey MultiEQ XT vs the v475 YPAO? Audio might be the most important part about an AVR to me. I know Audyssey is usually the winner, but wanted to know what you guys think.

Multi EQ XT is better than the YPAO that you get in the 475. XT will eq the sub.
If you have any further questions regarding Denon or Audyssey you should post it in another thread or start a new one.

Thanks for the help Bond. It finally showed up on my network. Control center gave me a new IP address that was totally different. I used that one to access the web setup interface.
The rabbit hole just keeps getting deeper. There is so much this receiver can do. Much to learn.
I started out just wanting good stereo receiver to replace my old 1978 JVC. Next thing you know I've got this big black box of a Yamaha that seems unnecessarily complex but I think it will grow on me.

Hello all, I'm a new owner of a v475
I have a 2.1 speaker system.
My blu ray player is hooked up to it works great, sounds great. On the right side of the receiver panel I see my left and right speaker and sub showing they are on. And the sound is above my expectations, with a blu ray disc. If I put a regular cd in my player the "sw" disappears. When I watch cable TV on my flat screen (audio hooked up with a toslink) the "sw" symbol disappears. I have no idea how to keep the sub on 100% of the time!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

If your speaker is set to Large, u have to manually enable the "extra bass" for 2 channel source. for a new owner of yamaha v375 like me, I don't quite favor to yamaha "basic" configuration. Compare to my other avr denon 1912, it can custom config for speaker type when come to listening music in stereo mode with or without the sub & I prefer only 2.0 stereo. Just simply press on stereo mode, the speaker type will auto changed to Large & disable the sub. When on multi channel movie time, it will back to normal (all speakers in Small with Sub on)
& there is no advanced crossover setup for each of the speaker for the v375! Too bad my pc satellite rear surround can't set any lower than 120hz, the front zensor 3.0 definitely can go lower...is it okay to set 80hz? Or I need to buy a new pair of rear surround that capable for 80hz to match the front?

It sounds like ypao has set your speakers to large (very common). In most cases this is wrong. Set your speakers to small an your sub should be engaged for all sources.

Ok, set the speakers to small. In terms of which mode I'm listening in I actually don't even know. So what does the "large" and "small" actually mean??

Could someone advise me on suitable HDMI cable length for 3D projector usage? I have purchased a 10m HQ 1.4 cable but it fails to display 3D content (projector not receiving input), I assume it has something to do with the length of the cable. Smaller cables work fine (2m).

Brand + maximum length tips are greatly appreciated!

These have a chip in them and are made specifically for long lengths. You can get them even longer if necessary.

Need some help with deciding between v375 and v475. I have left and right and center speakers all set on bookshelf (only place they fit) above TV, which puts them above 6 feet high, too high. Anyway, I noticed that on the back of the v375 there is one set of AV audio/video out RCA plugs, which I could use to separate receiver to power outdoor speakers, interestingly, it also has left and right audio out RCA plugs that I could use for a soundbar (to bring sound down to ear level)(the V475 does not have these?). Would ypao use this audio out in its calibration??? So I would end up with a 5.1 system and a soundbar from the audio out RCAs? Would that make it a 5.1.1? smile.gif

It's interesting that the 375 has two sets of RCA outs. It also has two audio inputs--it must be set up more for dubbing tapes.

Unfortunately, neither the 375 nor the 475 will suit your intended purpose. Those audio output jacks will output only analog audio inputs (think CD player). They will not downmix your HDMI audio into two channels.

If you have a passive soundbar (i.e., one with speaker wire inputs), you can step up to the 575. The 575 has "Zone B" speaker outputs that will output your HDMI audio as two channels.

Anyone else having sporadic internet connections with Pandora? I have my 675 connected to a TPLink bridge. Seems like Pandora isn't able to connect right away when I power on the receiver sometimes. inet radio connection works, as does SiriusXM, but when I switch to Pandora, it says "Access error" 60% of the time. After a few minutes of switching sources, it will eventually connect to pandora.

JBWIII,

Thanks for the great suggestion! On the V575, would it matter how the B zone amplifier is assigned? Such as in assigning it as a bi-amp front (even though it will not be bi-amped to the main speakers, but instead to a soundbar) or as a B zone (which says may be used for a second room, but in this case it will be the same room) as far as YPAO is concerned? Or is it that YPAO will configure it the same way regardless? Thanks!

How hot does the 675 get? I've heard reports that it gets hot while some others consider it 'normal' temperature. I'm considering this receiver, but don't want to have to set up an elaborate cooling area for the closet that it is going to go into.
