I have an old Yamaha RX-V740 which works well but does not have any HDMI connections, so yesterday I bought a RX-V475. I am not technically inclined, so I am having a hard time getting it to work as I would like. I have it connected to a Panasonic TH-C50FD18, which has a couple of HDMI connectors in the back and one in front. I connected the receiver to the TV, and the receiver to a DVD player, a PS3, an XBOX and an Apple TV via HDMI . Now whenever I turn off the TV the receiver shuts off as well, which I don't like. This is especially irritating when I listen to music via Apple TV and on the TV screen I scroll and pick tracks to listen to, then I would like to turn off the TV and just listen to the music, so the receiver shutting off is a problem. How can I turn the TV off without having the receiver shut off? I tried to go to the v475 set up to turn off the HDMi control, and then when I shut off the TV the receiver does not shut off, however, the music is interrupted for several seconds, as the receiver "seems" confused. I also could not use the PS3 controller until I went back and changed the HDMI control back to on. Does anyone know what I could do do fix the problem? I would be grateful for any advise.
