You need a dedicated streaming device for files and shares not a half baked, under powered BD player. Consider Shield or Android TV device.

Let me add some explanations, I already have an Android TV and no problem watching my PC stored films on it without real-time transcoding,
BUT this question was about projecting the films with my JVC RS56 projector connected to my X4000 (Monitor2).

OK I got it now that I do need another external DLNA capable receiver (X4000 side), the BDT500 does the job, maybe not all that well and additionally it is also necessary to have the films transcoded real-time by the PC's dlna server (serviio so far), I can carry on like that but would like to implement a neater solution.
So I will probably buy such a dedicated external device (and a new bigger ethernet switch as well as the current one is fully cabled), only now I am a bit confused by the "streaming" terminology, so far I did not think that having a dlna connection over my home network ethernet wires was also "streaming". For me that was only to watch on-line and real-time films or audio "streams".

I need to study it a bit more ...!

but is it also possible to setup the sound , according to the input, for example, for my streaming radio, i need the sound lower

i also have a harmony, i see a +10 volume command on the denon, but i cant see an -10 volume command

how can i proceed? or any suggestions?

thnx

There are settings to reduce the volume on specific inputs in the Denon Settings menu, but there is no command that I know of that does this while you are listening to the input.

Ah, that's what I am looking for, can you tell me where? Can only find one setting of volume when you turn on the receiver

Thnx

Slip of the brain... You can reduce the level of the analog inputs and the digital inputs separately, but you can't change the level of individual digital inputs

for each digital input i want to have another volume

like watching cable, for instance 25 , internet radio , 20 , dvd , 30 and so on

are there maybe presets possible on the remote? so i can send that preset when i start an activity on my logitech harmony...

Yes there are presets. I'll post the pronto hex shortly that you can email to Logitech to add to your account. My universal remote has all 400 or so discrete Denon commands.

Gotcha, should be able to add additional command/sequence to your harmony remote (I see mdavej respond to you).

Yup. On Denon models they are called "Quick Selects" of which there are 4 buttons on the X4000 front panel (while on the newer models they are on the Denon remote so you should be able to load a newer model (eg. X4100) into your Harmony and use the Quick Selects). You can set up 4 Quick Selects for each of the main/Zone 2/Zone 3 sources. The below image shows the factory default settings (which can be changed) with a start up volume of 40 for each source.

I've only used quick selects for sources, not for volume presets, so I'm not sure how that works. In any case, here are the the volume presets. You can ignore the stuff before the command description. Email to datasupport@logitech.com

That's what the OP is seeking .... a preset start up volume for each source.

Not sure where you're getting a "digital requirement" from as the Quick Select simply stores any input source name. Also if you scroll back to my last post to you you'll note the factory default for Quick Select 4 is "Network".

So change it to "Internet Radio." My point is there's no reason you can't select a network related source.

Yes , I changed it to Internet radio, by pressing and holding it, it gave a memory stored message, but after Turing off and on again, it was back on network...
Strange, gonna try later again
