UPDATE 4/15/13

Just got my receiver back from the shop. They said the HDMI board was bad making the receiver unable to update. They put a new HDMI board in and it works like a champ! Hope this helps someone else down the road!

Pat

End Update

Hello,

Long time lurker first time poster. I have the 2312CI receiver that I have never been able to update the firmware on since new. I've followed the posts under the offical thread but still can't figure it out.

My setup is a LAN cable from the receiver to the verizon fios actiontek router.

I added the ip to the dmz on the router, I've reset the microprocessor and the network card on the receiver.

I goto update firmware and it hangs at authenticating. I've tried this numerous times at all hours of the day and nothing happens. I've let it sit at authenticating for 12 hours with no change.

What am I doing wrong or should I try next?

Thanks,
Pat

Try using a different router.

Not sure how that would work. The verizon fios uses the action tec router. Are you suggesting plugging a router into one of the LAN plugs on the verizon cable router like a daisy chain?

No. Not familiar with Fios but if another brand name router cannot be used, then try taking the unit to your neighbor's house and use his internet connection.

Just an update so down the road someone else with the same problem may be helped.

I gave up after numerous tries to get the FW to update after being stuck on authenticating. I took it to a Denon authorized repair center about 30 minutes from me. Spoke with them yesterday and they said they had to order a part and itll be about 3 days. Im not sure of the part name, it was hard to understand the tech when I spoke with him due to accent but I'll update this when I get more info.
