Back after 2.5 years with a question. I bought two MCP-18s (liked the first one so much, figured I'd stock up). Turns out to have been a good idea, because NuForce was then bought. Now I have a problem: The one complaint about the MCP-18 is that it comes with a flimsy little remote, and now the first of the two remotes is wearing out. Before the second remote dies, I want to program the codes into a universal remote. But the codes don't seem to be documented anywhere. Logitech doesn't have them. The NuForce manual doesn't refer to the remote at all. There is an RS-232 manual. I could probably program an RS-232 endpoint to receive different codes from a remote and map them, but I'd rather just program a remote with the original codes. Is there a way to do that? Do learning remotes, with IR receivers built in, actually work?
