Hi guys,

I have a very loud popping noise issue and I'm not sure if it's my EP2500 or my subwoofer. The EP2500 is powering the subwoofer. Nothing coming out of my subwoofers at the moment except loud popping noise. On the EP2500 channel 2, the red light on the (Clip) is glowing red. So is the issue the amp or subwoofer? Any help will be appreciated.

If your amp is reporting clipping, you are over driving it. Clipping could seriously damage the subwoofer.

Fox, thank you for commenting.

I have my receiver settings for subwoofer which starts at 0, I have it set at 3. My EP2500 set the EP2500 GAIN @ 11 o' clock for both channel 1 and 2. Each channels power dual 15 inch subwoofers. This is the same settings that my brother had when he owned this subwoofer set up for 3 years. I've had it for 2 years now. So a total of 5 yrs without any issue until last night. Even now, when I set the EP2500 GAIN at 0, the light still lit that it "clip". Have I damaged the subs? Or the Amp? Any help appreciated.

It is hard to say without switching out one component or another. If your amp always clipping, the audio to the sub will be square wave and all you will hear is probably just pop when its corns banning around the enclosure. The clipping could be caused by either amp failing or speaker shorting out.
