I'm new to these forums and fairly new to Denon A/V receivers. I flipped on my Denon tonight and it stated that there was a firmware update available so I decided to update. Well, it allowed me to watch TV while it just said authenticating forever so I flipped the A/V receiver off to cancel the update and do it at another time. Now, it doesn't display anything or any sound and is stuck in this "update retry" mode and I can't get it to work. It worked fine and I should have never even updated it. I need help resetting it or getting my brand new receiver to work again, very frustrated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's often best to wait a few days before doing the update as the Denon servers can get overloaded with so many units being updated at once. You could try unplugging the network cable until you're ready to try again or simply leave the AVR on overnight to let the update try to complete while you're sleeping.

For more helpful information, review posts #3-6 in the 2012 Denon AVR thread linked in my sig as well as the post below ....

Did you figure out a solution to this? I am having the same problem with the same model. I have let it retry the update for a full week, and I have left the receiver unplugged overnight. I have plugged it in and allowed it to boot up with and without the cat5 from the router plugged into the back. The receiver is nonfunctional besides the update retry message displaying on the screen. Is there any way to stop it? Do I just have to ship it back?

Did you try the suggestions listed in the link I provided to the OP?

Also try doing a network reset .....

Spend some time reviewing posts #3-6 in that Owner's thread and post any further questions you have in that thread. Thanks. smile.gif
