Wow Emotiva has been taking on some interesting projects, I'm a Carver fan and definitely love a good deal so hoping to see quality at a low price.

A quote from Dan Laufman, President of Emotiva Audio Corporation;

A price increase will be the LAST thing you'll see coming!

We're going to use our manufacturing and purchasing leverage to reduce prices, not increase them.

And we're going manufacture of these beautiful products in Franklin, TN USA.

It's going to be fun.

Cheers,
Big Dan

I think its great that Emotiva will be selling tube amps. But what about products such as the XMC-1 which have been promised for many years? I feel that Emotiva should focus on the products that they said were coming (XMC-1, subs and speaker line) than buying more companies. Sometimes when companies such as Emotiva that are successful with small product lines branch out in different directions things do not turn out that great. I wish Emotiva all the best but buying Sherbourn and now Carver is a bit risky in this economy IMO.

That is incorrect, they only purchased Sherbourn less than a couple of years ago. I concur with Bill, the XMC-1 and other products are more important than buying small or troubled companies. Sherbourn and Emotiva's relationship with TacT have netted nothing thus far. And most recently their XPA-1L amp release has had some sort of recall to fix faulty software.

Edit: I was thinking of this announcement at the end of 2010, apparently it happened even before this.

Wrong. Emotiva did not always own Sherbourn which is common knowledge. Emotiva (Jade) bought Sherbourn in 2009.

Check this out which is right on the Sherbourn site wink.gif.

think your running a bit behind the times there dude... xpa 1L was reshipped a few days ago had a software glitch.. ez fix ..took a bit to find it tho.. new reviews will be coming in this weekend
sounds like a great amp to me.. could be a great addition to my xpa 3 which is amazing..

also the title is totally correct.. do you need an inexpensive tube amp or tube pre amp... very cool stuff coming down the pipe...

cheers..

Dude,

I would say you are running a bit behind the times (two weeks and counting) as well wink.gif. There was another issue (internal ground) found with the XPA-1L amps and they are still not shipping. Expected ship date is 4/24 so it will be interesting to see how the XPA-1L performs and if there are anymore issues.

Bill
