I'm looking for advice on picking out a new receiver. I really like the warmer sound when pairing Denon receivers with the B&W 600 series. So, I'm looking to stick with Denon.

My current setup is:

- Denon AVR-2805
- 2x B&W DM 603 S3 (Front towers)
- LCR600 S3 (Center)
- ASW600 (Sub)
- 2x DS3 (Surrounds)

I want to make sure I am able to push enough power to all the speakers, but I don't know if there is enough difference to justify the cost. There are very few differences between the models to begin with, but what would be the biggest reason to make the move to the 3313? I'm currently leaning toward the 2313 model, but I'm open to suggestions. I certainly plan to keep it for a long time. It's hard to know now what might matter to me in several years.

Also, I'm content waiting another month to see what comes out in the new models and see what the major new features are. If they are that significant, I might try to get one fo the current models on a clearance discount.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

The advantage of the 3313 is preamp outputs so that you can connect an external amp to give more power to your speakers.

No way to do that with the 2313.

If the 2805 has all the features you need the just buy an external amp for that unit.

The 2805 is a 100W model so if it is providing enough power to your speakers then any of the XX13 models you are considering will as well.

What I have is fine, except that I've suddenly started having problems with getting audio through my PS3 on DVDs. Not a total loss of audio--I hear ticks on menu scrolling, and audio through the Netflix app works fine (see this thread: After Firmware Update (4.40), No Longer Getting Audio on PS3)--which makes me think it might have something to do with HDCP and the fact that I have to split my video (via HDMI) to the TV and audio (via Optical Digital) to my receiver. I don't know that's the issue, but I've been looking for an excuse to tidy up my setup with less cords and possibly more power and better sound through Blu-rays. wink.gif

Seems like plenty of power (sounds great), but wondering if adding some power would help for peak moments in movies or just overall.

If the 2805 is not currently at max volume and clipping, then not likely.
