im gonna be switching from my old yamaha HTR-5760
im really thinking about getting the yamaha RX-V667
but i notice a difference in the specs that i need help understanding
my old htr-5760 watts per channel was 110W x 7
and now rx-v667 is 90W x 7
my speakers are
yamaha NS-555 towerspeakers with a Input Power (Maximum / Nominal) 250W / 100W
yamaha NS-C444 center speaker same input power both are 6ohms
and using some sony satellites SAVE367T for surround input power up to 120w
will the rxv667 drive my speakers just like my old htr-5760
or better???
please help me understand
thx

Straight from the Yamaha HTR-5760 Owners Manual.

The RX-V667 specs
90 watts x 7 into 8 ohms (20-20k Hz) at 0.08% THD

So the power is pretty much the same. Not sure where the 110W rating for the 5760 comes from but it isn't at 8 ohms, (20hz-20Kz) with a specified THD. That 110W might be rated a 1khz which is useless because no one listen to a single frequency.

The RX-V667 is a few years old now, they just introduced the V675. Is there a reason you're looking at the 667 in particular?

I would get the 667 or other 6xx model over your current receiver for the HDMI inputs, hi res audio decoding from blu ray and if you get one of the models with networking that is a nice plus too.
