I used my Denon as a processor, i was wondering which Denon receiver now would be worth replacing my 3808ci. I like the Audyssey processing so a newer version of MultiEQ would be great.

If another reciever with like processing like Onkyo or another one would be a worthy contender let me know.

Onkyo, Integra, Marantz and NAD all provide Audyssey. The highest grade of Audyssey, MultEQ XT 32, is provided by a relatively limited number of models, though. The least expensive is Onkyo's 818 (about $1K) The only current Denon receiver with it is the AVR 4520 (about $2K). It has pre-outs, so you can use it as a processor. Or there's the Marantz AV8801 pre/pro, which lists for about $3600 but can be had for less.

Marantz SR7009 avr + MM9000 amp --> Atmos 7.1.4
Fronts=NHT 2.9+AC2, FH+TM=DefTech PM1000, LCR+TM amped

The current successor to your 3808CI is the 4520CI, however, you may be able to find the 4520CI's predecessor, 4311CI which also uses XT32. Give Mike at a "call" for the current price. smile.gif

If you think your AVR is defective, refer to the Owner's manual and reset the microprocessor a few times in a row.
