I'm not 100% up to date on the new models.

Budget near $1000.00

Preference for Yamaha, Denon or Onkyo about the same.

Last time we picked out 3312 denon (I ended up taking it for myself because room wasn't ready)

Now he is ready. Dual Hdmi needed as he has projector and plasma in his living room.

The 3313CI is on clearance now with dual main zone HDMI outputs and a 3rd Zone 2 HDMI output and is likely under his max budget or he may want to wait until the new Denon "X" series is announced in a few weeks ... (see 2013 Denon AVR Owner's thread linked in my sig).

where do you see the 3313ci clearanced? I'm hunting a sub-$1,000 receiver too, and a refurb 3313 was on my list, but I definitely don't see it new from any reputable retailer for under $1199.

You have to call the authorized reseller, personally, and ask what their "best price" if for the unit that you are interested in.

Accessories4less ( A4L ) has the refurbished Denon AVR-3313ci for $740 but I'd also add the 5-year warranty for $70 to it. A4L is an authorized dealer.

The $800 price for a new 3313ci is probably from an unauthorized dealer. Better to stick with a dealer from Denon's Authorized Dealer list ( visit Denon USA for that list ) to get the full warranty.

Denon AVR X7200WA, Emotiva XPR-5, Emotiva XPA-7, Sony XBR 75" 850C, Oppo BDP-103D, Roku 4.
DefTech BP7000SC (L/R), CLR3000 (C), SM55 (FH), UIW BPZ/A (SB), UIW 75 (TM).
JBL L7 (Sur), EoSone RSR 350 (RH).

PC 2.1 setup. Emotiva Stealth 6, SVS SB2000 sub, Emotiva DC-1 DAC.

Authorized resellers generally can only list MSRP on their websites which is why when it is suggested that you "call", it really means to pick up the phone and "call" the reseller (eg. Craig in the post above). And all the 2012 XX13 models are on clearance now with the new 2013 models either already available (lower level "E" series) or soon to be released (May/June, "X" series). smile.gif

He could also go to Costco and get the Pioneer SC-1522 for $599.
http://www.avsforum.com/t/1465612/official-pioneer-sc-1522-9-2-network-ready-av-receiver-owners-thread

This has dual HDMI outputs and is a 9.2 receiver that normally goes for $1500.

Depending on what year model your Dad now has, have your him check out either the"2012 Denon AVR-XX13" or "2013 Denon AVR-E/X Models" thread linked in my sig, reviewing posts #3-6 if he has questions on his new AVR.
