Please help, I'm looking to spend around $500-600 on a receiver and have no idea what to get
Speaker wise i was thinking about Pioneer's SP-PK52FS.
if you have any suggestions on any other speaker sets for around the same as the ones above ($550) they would be much appreciated also

thanks

I suggest the Pioneer SC-1222-K for $550 on newegg.com, it's basically a rebadged Pio Elite SC-61.

If you only need 5.1, then the new Denon X1000 would be an excellent choice as it uses Audyssey MultEQ XT (MSRP $450) and comes with Zone 2 pre-outs should you decide to add a 2CH setup in another room (eg. deck, patio, office, bedroom).

Pioneer, Onkyo, Yamaha, Marantz, and Denon all offer good choices. Personally, I prefer receivers with Audyssey so the Denon 2313 would be high on my list in this price range.
