Unpacked my new Onkyo TX-NR717 last weekend, and in trying to utilize the zone 2 (powered) speakers with the audio source being Net (Pandora in this case), I'm getting no output.

The only way that output works is when I switch the main to Net.

Whole Home mode doesn't work either.

I don't have any speakers connected to 5.1 yet - and I don't see why this would matter.

I am aware of the inability of this receiver to send digital audio to zone 2/3 powered from digital source - but this source is from within the unit itself, so I'm not sure if this is an issue as well. It pretty much defeats my purpose for getting this receiver if I can't send Pandora to my zone 2/3.

Maybe trivial, but have you set the front wide speakers to Zone 2 in the speaker configuration menu? Also what I don't understand is that you know that Net/pandora is working in zone 1 with no speakers attached. If you play net or usb in zone 2, then Zone 1 will switch to that too, you can't have a different source then...
