So I have a few problems I need answers for. Hope someone can help. Here are my questions:
1) So I tried to watch Harry Potter #4 via Cablevision On Demand last night. It was the HD version. For some reason, it was only coming in as Dolby 2.0 according to my prepro. Is it really possible that cablevision would transmit this recent movie in only 2.0??? Or could it be something with the cable box? (I do get network Dolby 5.1 feeds from the same cable box, so I don't think it's the box).
2) I did try to set my prepro (Krell S-1200) to convert Dolby 2.0 signal to DPLIIX so I could at least get some kind of surround sound, but it wouldn't work. The prepro manual does say it can take 2.0 and convert to DPLiix). Any ideas why the prepro would not convert to DPLIIX?
3) on a related note, if I have the prepro set to convert all incoming signals (2.0, 5.1) from the cable box to DPLIIX, why do I still get different surround modes when I watch network TV (depending on different recorded content of show and commercials)?
Please help. Thanks very much for any and all assistance.
