My Yamaha RX-V765 died yesterday so I'm potentially looking for a replacement unless someone know things to check for my specific problems.

The yamaha:

HDMI switch still works it just introduces artifacts or completely distorts the image. I can still change inputs but the OSD menu doesn't work.

There is no audio over HDMI, I haven't tried any other sources.

I honestly think it is fried and I need to buy a new receiver but any help troubleshooting would be appreciated.

Upgrade, in order of importance:

1. My only must-have feature is some kind of dynamic audio and some kind of room correction.

2. My next concern is getting the best room correction possible.

3. Send component/composite over HDMI.

4. 3d

5. Upscaling to 1080p

6. 2 sub outputs

7. 2 Sub eq

8. Is multi-zone video worth the extra cost or should I just buy a hdmi matrix with multiple outputs?

9. Multi-zone audio

Any thoughts?

Take a look at http://www.accessories4less.com can't beat the deals. I have an Onkyo 515 that has all the features you are looking for.

Exactly where I'm looking.

The 515 is my cheap option. It doesn't really meet 2, 7 or 8 though. 8 and 7 are expensive features though.

I find it annoying that I have to upgrade to an onkyo 7xx to get multeq or XT.

It appears that Audyssey MultEQ is one thing you want but I'll be dammed if I can find the spec for 7 & 8, what are you looking at with them.

7. http://www.audyssey.com/audio-technology/sub-eq-ht

8. http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/DENAVR3313CI/DENON-AVR-3313CI-7.2-Networking-Receiver-w/AirPlay-3D-4K-Ready/1.html This is the cheapest receiver I can find with 2nd zone video.

I don't think I'm willing to pony up the cash for 7 or 8 but I'm hoping to find one with multeq at a decent price.

I ordered a Denon 1712 this morning. I decided that throwing the Wii in the trash is a good idea. Hooking an old snes directly to the projector's sound provides a little bit extra nostalgia, thanks to the crappy speakers.
