Can you tell me how this will compare to the SC67/68? I'm looking to replace my SC07. Any input?

well first ..the SC-67/68 still sits above the the SC-71/72 ..you will have to wait ..a bit longer for the replacements ..for the higher mod's..

now the biggest..additions..are 4k..and MHL as well as high res file playback ..power is up to over last years ..

now when it comes to replacing ur SC-07... i think you should wait for the 67/68 replacements to come ...before you upgrade ...but any one of these are very good AVR'S with tons more inputs and features..

I was going to buy the SC 72 , but as you mentioned I will sit it out for the next models, possibly a SC 7x model. Thank you for the input.

I wonder if Pioneer will get into problems offering to many different type of Elite avr's. This makes it harder to distinguish the true flagship avr. This is just my opinion and not a knock on any of the avr's or people choices.

Klipsch RF 7 based HT 7.4, Pioneer SC 35, Acurus Five 200 amp, Chase SS 18.2(2), VS 18.1(2), Samsung BDP F 7500, Asus/My Book Live HPC 4 TB

Yaquin VK 2100 amp, McIntosh XR 5 speakers, Samsung BDP F 7500

I've been thinking this for the last year. It used to be there were just a few Elite offerings. Now, you go to Pioneer's website and it's like, whhhhaaaat?! What makes owning an Elite so special when there are a dozen of them?

Of course, I got it modified with the TK-427, which cheeks it up another, maybe, 3 or 4 quads per channel.

I am glad they offer several models since the things in their top of the line I will never use such as 9.2 /11.2.

this is a beautiful amp. Noticed in the Specs that it says pre-outs 2 subwoofers.. Shouldn't it say 9.2?

Pre-Amp Outputs 2 (Subwoofers)

I have the Pio VSX 03 Elite , my 2nd Pio Receiver and I am taking a good look at this one. I need to upgrade to 3d, 4k and all that stuff..

I wrote Pioneer a couple of weeks ago, inquiring about when the 2014 info will come. The reply was January.
Maybe by the middle of January, we will get info. The models will actually be released by May or June.
I am a Pioneer early adopter of the SC-09. It sold, waiting to get a new Susano, if any.
Thanks.
George.

Sorry to post this question here...but figured the SC-1323-K is the non-elite which fits here I suppose...

Can anyone confirm if the SC-1328-K that Futureshop in Canada sells is the same as the SC-1323-K ?

Pioneer link: http://www.pioneerelectronics.ca/POCEN/Home/AV-Receivers/FutureShop/SC-1328-K

It's on sale now for $800 - is this a decent price?

I was considering buying the Elite in the US and just paying for the shipping/duties - it'll still come out cheaper than buying the elite local here in Canada. However, the 1328 for $800 is tempting.

Thanks

Aloha All,

I just picked this unit up last night, I know nothing about these types of units, as this is my first unit ever owned, so of course I had a some trouble getting the unit to work and was pushing all kinds of buttons and changing setting. well I finally got the sound to come out, but now I can't get my cable box to display a video.

Does anyone know how to reset this unit back to factory settings?

Thanks,
ulua

I had to exchange the unit as the HDMI port for my cable box was bad, so I got a new one and everything works perfect. I would still like to know how to reset the AV back to factory, just in case I change some setting that I should not be changing.
Thanks

it's the SC-72 model

Just installed my SC-72, It replaced a Yamaha RX-V575 and wow what a difference there is.

I'm hearing things in the sound field that I have never heard before.

I didn't  think the 1080p upscale on the video would be that much of a

improvement from the 1080i that comes out of the cable box, But it works and works very well.

It makes older movies look fantastic.

I only have one issue with mine at the moment. When listening to a 2 channel stream from the

cable box and it up converts to say a 3/2/1 audio output there are dropouts at times.

I think it even happens when in stereo mode also.

Anyone heard this before?

I'll investigate when I get home, but our SC-05 might have blown something. Not outputting sound, my wife says, after a power out. If so, I might be looking at the 72. Is it worse than the SC05 in any way? So hard to compare the two.
