I'm looking to finally purchase a receiver for true 5.1 surround for my home theater. I built my wall rack between studs however which is 16 inches wide and most recievers i've seen at 17+ inches.
I really rather not tear my wall down and frame a wider area to put my reciever in. Can anyone recommend a reciever thats less than 16" wide and wont break the bank? i', looking at the $300 dollar range.

I'd be hooking up the following devices:
Epson 8350
ps3
blu ray player
cablebox

Thanks in advance!

Unless you buy some type of Home Theater In a Box solution you probably wont find a receiver less than 17" wide.

Might want to rethink your rack. My avr, Bluray player, and cable box are all 17"

this will fit but I can't vouch for the quality of the system. Only 14" wide.

Aren't most cable boxes 17" wide? Most Blu Ray players too.

The LG has one optical input and zero HDMI inputs.

That's the problem with these HTiB solutions is that they usually have very little connectivity for other devices.

Specs can be found here.

hmm cant i just get the reciever itself? i already have the speakers and subwoofer. they were curently hooked up to a stereo reciever which just emulates surround sound.

You're going to be hard pressed to find a standalone avr that's less than 17"

Yeah i think you're right. I'll just have to get it and hide it behind the rack. (back of rack is another room). then use those ir remotes for it i guess. I would rather be abel to see the face of the reciever but i guess this is my only choice for now.
