My local best buy right now has an open box 673 for $355. They also have an open box A820 for $410. I have the money for either but I'm curious as to your thoughts on which of those two models should I get, or should I look at a full price V75 series receiver?

Any thoughts or differences between these would be awesome!

I would get the 820. Its more future proof. Has Party Zone. Better room correction (YPAO RSC Multi Point). And is the Aventage series which is supposed to have better quality components. Well worth the extra $55 imo.
You can go to the Yamaha website and compare the differences.

There is very little difference in the 75 series. I would definitely skip that option.

No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!

I don't see the 820 OR 720 anywhere on Best Buy's website. I see the 830, but that's more than I am looking to spend.

Call your local BB and ask them if they have the A720 on clearance. If they have it it should be $379.

How about the Sony 1030? CNet gave it pretty good reviews and lists it as it's second place receiver.

Here is a whole thread on the Sony DN1030 that may interest you. I've never seen the receiver myself.
