Has anybody heard, or seen this unit yet? I am seriously considering one. I can't listen to it first this creates a big problem. Se here is my concern back when Pioneer made the Elite more affordable I bought one. Boy was that a mistake. It was cheaper for a reason. When you go by name and status alone I found out you can get burned. I have never even considered a Krell because of one thing. Of course it was the price. Now they come out with the Foundation although still expensive is in the top end of my budget. I can get a good deal on one through my local shop, the only Krell dealer in Ohio supposedly. I have read the little articles in the magazines but these are just little write-ups. I am wondering if anybody has received one yet? As they are supposedly shipping. I am wondering if they are just much cheaper versions of there big brothers dumbed down a lot with cheaper components? I realize it is cheaper but am I going to disappointed with the sound? How would it compare to the Marantz 8801? I can get a great deal on one of those also. I am mostly interested in the two channel analog audio. This seems to be the perfect choice for my needs. I am intrigued by this new HDMI circuit they have as well. If the audio is about 90% of the Bryston SP3 I will be in heaven. I have spent considerable time voicing my speakers in my room to my taste and the ARES room eq sounds like just the ticket to clean up the lower frequencies and leave my upper mid and highs alone. I have a well treated dedicated theater.
I know there is going to be those that say just get the Integra or another insert piece here. I have an Integra now. Whenever there is no source playing in idle about one meter from the speakers there is noise. This at a volume of about -14. I want a cleaner signal. My wife even heard the much clearer background of the Krell Home Theater Standard they had on display. And it is pretty ancient in this digital world we live in.
So any and all help would be appreciated. I am considering doing this quickly. My dealer even gave me his cell number provoking me even more. eek.gif
I am surprised I had to create a topic usually you AVSers are all over this stuff. I usually just read that's why not a lot of posts in the many years being a member. There has only been sporadic info on this unit and whenever I ask in there they go dead. This also concerns me. No real hype.

My dealer might be getting one of these in. If I can persuade him to lose it for a few days I would love to compare it to my 8801. Has anyone actually got one to play with and use for awhile? Also are there any pictures of the remote? Will it work with iRule?

Life is enjoyable with good quality

I know there is a web interface from what I gather. There is a couple user reviews I have found elsewhere. You would have to look around like I did. The few people that have been able to hear it, love it.
