I bought a Onkyo TX-NR616 last December which unfortunately had a problem this week. The HDMI Out Main died on me and so I brought it back to the seller. I heard the Onkyos have a few problems with HDMI so I'm looking to maybe replace that Onkyo if I can get a refund. I'm sure this HDMI problems will reoccur even after they fixed it. I had the Denon 3313 in mind (which is at a good price right now), but how is that receiver compared to the TX-NR616? My setup is as follows:
I have a TV and a projector that I want to feed with a PS3, Pioneer Bluray player and a Popcorn-Hour A-400 Mediaplayer. I'm dependent of 2 HDMI Outs, so there are not many alternatives I can choose of. The room is rather small (some 12 square meters). I'm willing to pay the extra give or take 300 dollars for the Denon 3313 ONLY IF it would make sense in a small room like that. Would there be a noticeable difference between the Denon 3313 and the TX-NR616 in terms of sound? And how does the Denon 3313 handle picture? I will only watch 1080p material. Do I have to manually switch between the 3 HDMI outputs or does the receiver do that automatically?
And generally: Is there maybe a better alternative than the Denon 3313 for my situation?
Many thanks in advance for your advice!!
