Hi everyone!

I am Jeraz from India. I am new to the forum.

I have a Marantz SR6005 AV receiver. Everything was running perfectly till yesterday (I finished playing a game on my ps3 at around 1.30 am). At morning, when I turned on the system, there was no sound from the front speakers (I was playing 2 channel music so there was no sound at all). I tried various sources including my PS3, Xbox 360, Pioneer BD Player (BDP 150), and even my ipod connected via USB cable.

I navigated to the test tone menu and realized that the centre speaker, surrounds and subwoofer are working fine. The front speakers (Klipsch RF62ii) are not responding.

I am not well-versed with speaker cables and connections. I checked the HDMI cables, and they seem to be connected properly (I am getting video). Also, the speakers seem to be connected correctly, since I do not see any loose ends whatsoever. I am getting sound from my TV speakers, so it is not a source problem.

What could be the issue here? I just wanted to make sure there was nothing I could do before calling the techie (I still have warranty). Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

The 6005 supports having two separate pairs of front channel speakers attached, called A and B. See page 23 in the owner's manual
Check to see if you accidentally selected the alternate (B) set of front speakers (which you don't have). Press the "SPKR A/B button" on the remote to switch back and forth between them.

Thank you so much, Selden Ball. That solved it. I'm so relieved. I'll admit (at the risk of sounding like a total moron) that I was worried I had lost some important internal component. Now, I feel both relieved, and stupid! biggrin.gif

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!! smile.gif

You are very welcome!

Other people have reported the same problem: you are not alone.
