Hello all,
I'm new to this forum and I don't have the necessary knowledge to handle this issue by myself.
I have an HDTV LG LED model number 47LW5700 and I'm trying to connect it through my AV receiver. The receiver is an older one and it's a TEAC AG-D9320. At this moment I am only interested to have the sound from TV transffered into the receiver. I tried with a TOSLINK cable and with a RCA cable and I couldn't figure this out at all. Any suggestion/advice/practical guide is more than welcome.
Thanks a lot,
P.S. Images for the panels of both AV receiver and the HDTV are here: - for the AV receiver
sorry but i couldn't find a relevant image of the TV's back panel. I've tried to upload the tv's manual but it's too large.

Thanks again

When you say you've tried connecting both optical and analog cables, what exactly did you do?

You should be able to connect an optical cable from the TV's optical audio output to the TEAC and then on the TV set the TV to either "External speakers" or "Home theater". You may also have a defective cable so try another one if you've got one on hand.

** Think the AVR is defective?  Reset the microprocessor 4-5 times.
