Hi, I hope someone will be able to help me with what is probably a very simple problem. I'd like to be able to connect my deck speakers to my AVR1913, I can't use the Zone 2 function as I'm already using all the speaker outputs for my 7.1 system. I'm not interested in being able to play different sounds outside to what I'm playing inside. The outside speakers have their own volume control so can be turned off when not needed. Thanks

Well, if you're not willing to use the Zone 2 speaker terminals I'm not sure what else you can do. That receiver does not have any preamp outputs for Zone 2, the speaker terminals are the only way to connect.

Since you have a full 7.1 setup you don't have anything else available.

What sources are you planning to use on the patio?

If the deck speakers have their own volume control are they powered speakers? Do you have some kind of amp connected to them?

Unfortunately they're not powered speakers, I would usually just be playing Pandora or some other internet radio. I didn't know if I could maybe piggy back off the the outputs for the 2 front speakers?

Not recommended ... rather consider either removing the rear surrounds (or front heights) entirely (ie. 5.1) and use the Zone 2 speaker posts or connect an A/B switch to the Surr Back/Amp Assign speaker posts and the two sets of speakers to the A/B switch.
