Can someone help me with 2 questions.

1. What DAC is in the Marantz sr5008? Is it delta/sigma or multibit

2. What is the best way to set this up for stereo. I have fooled with all the audyssey setting and can't find something I like.
It is running to an emotiva XPA-2 amplifier which is powering Focal Aria 936 speakers. I would prefer 2.0 sound but I could deal with 2.1.
Which settings should I be in? I am using toslink out from my laptop, which I can set to multiple different sample rates.

I am just not getting the quality I would expect out of it. I hooked up a audioengine d1 dac straight to the amp and I honestly believe it sounded better than the music when I go from the marantz.

Are you running in pure mode ? You might have compression on still ?

Personally I find pure mode rather flat, music sounds better with Audyssey IMO on my SR6008.
