I recently got a new Vizio LCD TV.

Hooked everything up to my system which currently has a HK AVR 247.

I have been noticing some AV Sync issues when using the HDMI via the AVR.

Both my TV and AVR only allow for positive sync adjustments but according to the AV Sync test on the WoW disc the delay is around -80ms.

For now I have rewired everything to not use the HDMI on the AVR and am using the optical out of the TV to the AVR which fixes the sync issues.

Curious if anyone else has encountered this?

Or maybe its time for a new AVR as well =P

Old thread but I'm having a similar issue with my AVR 247.

Audio setup is Samsung BluRay Coaxial>AVR 247 | Video is HDMI from Blu Ray to TV.

No matter what settings I change with the AV Sync the delay is there. If the TV volume is on and the AVR volume is on you can easily hear the difference (let alone see it).

Played around with the connections and discovered if I run HDMI from BR player > TV, then Optical Audio out to the AVR, the issue is gone.Seems like I still get DTS sound this way.

I'm ready for a new receiver but it's tough to convince the wife that 6 years is old for a piece of AV equipment. smile.gif I thought about setting the system back up so the lip sync issue returns as an excuse to get a new AVR but that would probably backfire somehow. Waiting for the after christmas deals…. smile.gif
