Hello,
Just curious, would storing AVR equipment / DVR players, etc. in the attic be detrimental to the equipment? I live in Memphis TN, the attic is really hot in the summer, probably 120? who knows, but hot!!!

thanks,
Todd

I did a search but couldn't find anything here. and didn't know where else to post..... smile.gif

Put a thermometer up there to check maybe to see how hot it really gets first. Personally I'd store electronics in a cooler place. Since they're probably designed to operate in the 120 range without additional cooling I'd guess it'd probably be fine....think I've read cooling fans in some avrs kick in around 140. Your manuals say anything?

Rats, squirrels & other rodents LOVE attics & wires.

Will I find La Scala, or better, to displace my La Scala fronts, before I displace my kg1, kg2 & kg3 with Heresy or better?

I'd do garage before hot attic! no, a high humidity 130-140 deg attic would NOT be nice to electronics, especially capacitors which could bulge, pop open, leak, etc. exposing magnetic hard drives in a DVR to high temps is also a no-no.

nearly all CE devices put an upper limit like 95 deg F & 85% RH for operating environment. you probably have some leeway on the top end for storage but why chance ruining it.

common sense applies
