i just pulled the trigger on one at best buy. they are on clearence for $199.00. says retail is 499.00 . i have a small dedicated 10x14 theater with a benq 1070 projector and a 120" jamestown at screen. i have a new set of discontinoud infinity vts-10 surround system. it has a powered 8' sub and im going to add a powered sony 10' sub also. any troubles with yamaha i was looking at denon 1613 but this 573 was a good deal i believe. i can run 5.1 setup on a 7.1 receiver right? thanks

Amazon.com has it listed at $415. Sound like you got a heck of a deal. And no problems running 5.1 on a 7.1 receiver. Just remember to setup the rear speakers as “surround” (beside the listening position) and not as “surround back” (behind the listening position).

Theatre: Sony 46" LCD panel, Sony DBP-S550 Blu-ray, Yamaha RX-V2065 receiver,

Polk Audio Monitor 70 (L&R), CS10 (centre), M10 (surrounds), dual Velodyne VDR-12 subs

Maybe you should have bought two.

both are a good deal at 199.00. You should buy them up and re sell. Heck the cheapest I have seen a 373 go for is 249.00.

373, 473 and 573 are last years models the 375, 475 and 575 have replaced them. You'll start seeing clearance prices like that more and more. Good purchase on the 573 @ $199. Hard to find a 7.1 receiver under $200.

I bought a 573 for $200 online a week ago and I'm very happy with my purchase. I got it to replace my several year old Yamaha RX-V461 5.1 receiver. I updated to 7.1 speakers in the process and the improvements from having the new codecs and the extra 2 speakers were worth a few hundred dollars of investment.

Also what is the best setting for awesome surround during a movie...strait,dtDTS,syfi,exc..... enhanced on or off.....I see there is a thing called cinema something lit up.
