Having thoughts about making a change ... the Lexicon DC-1 works fine, but at the price of the PT-7020, I'm thinking of making a change. I now have Vienna Acoustic Speakers - 5.1 ch./Klipsch Sub, and AudioSource Amp 100 power amps.

Any opinions??? Time for an upgrade?

Or would the SR-120 receiver be a better choice ... and eliminate the cheap power amps.

Time to upgrade.

When the DC-1 came out two decades ago, its surround processing was way ahead of its time (especially for 7.1-speaker set-ups). Most other manufacturers wouldn't get 7.1 processing until 8 years later, when Dolby PLIIx was introduced.

Since that time, technology has caught up and surpassed the capabilities of the DC-1. The Sherbourn's surround processing (PLIIx) is as good (if not better) than your DC-1's processing. It also has HDMI connectivity and basic room correction.

Well worth upgrading, especially considering what the Sherbourn is priced at these days.

Receiver would be my first choice, since it has better amplification than your AudioSource Amp 100.
