I just picked up a Denon AVR-X3000 and I'm pretty excited to get everything working.

I have two questions that I have yet to find the answer for and I hope to get some help here.

1. How do I change the startup source to be the last source used?

I have the ARC enabled (and working) between my LG 47LW5600 and the X3000, so when I turn off my TV, the receiver also shuts off. When I turn the TV back on, the last source that was used is Standby Pass through'd (I haven't got Power On control working. Any help with that would also be appreciated) with audio coming from the TV speakers. Now, when I want to start pushing audio to the speakers, I turn the Receiver on and the TV speakers instantly mute in favor of the system speakers. Everything is great, except the source is always changed to TV Audio, which is fine for me, but confusing for my wife. Therefore, she does not use the new system.

2. I found this document that describes the TCP commands that the X3000 accepts, only when I try to telnet into my device, I get a "Not Listening" error. How do I enable TCP command listening on the receiver?

I am a programmer by profession, so making all of my toys talk together is a hobby of mine. I would like to be able to program my phones, tablets, etc. to be able to control the receiver, but port 23 is not accepting any commands. I've looking through all of the settings and I haven't found anything that talks about accepting telnet commands.

I did find that port 80 is open and launches a pretty crude web page that will give me "most" of the functionality that I'd like. But I want more. I want all of the commands available from that document.

Thank you for any help! And I will be sharing any remote apps I write. Just in case anyone is interested, I run a full Microsoft stack at my house (Windows tablets (both 8 and RT), Windows Phone, and Xbox)

1. Disable ARC and use an optical cable from the TV to the AVR and your troubles go away as noted below ...

Awesome! Thank you for your answers! I don't have anything directly attached to the tv, everything is going through the receiver, so I'll just delete TV and see where that takes me smile.gif

As for the program for the 3808, I read over his code already and it it sends all of the commands via port 23, which is not being listened on, on my receiver. I'll keep looking and see what I can find!

thanks for the push in the right direction!
