I'm helping a friend of mine setup her multi-room setup (each room has in-wall volume controls).
All are in-wall speakers (Episode speakers - 90w RMS, peak 225) - 11 in total. (5.2 main viewing, the rest one speaker ONLY in each room).
We recently purchased the 3 zone - Onkyo TX-NR616 (zone1 - 7.2, Powered Zone 2, pre zone 3). I have tried connecting the 5.1 with zone1, I'm able to get good volume from 5.1 channels, but when I use the Powered Zone 2 along with Dayton SS6, speaker selector and the 5.1 together, the volume drastically degrades. Do I need an amp to use with zone 3 and connect it via SS6 speakers selector.
Is this AVR not powerful enough to power all 11 speakers at once ? Appreciate any help.
